Watermarked Contact Sheets in Bridge CS5

Monday, August 8th, 2011

bridgeHeader with Marek Mularczyk - SaiTraining.co.ukGood Monday to you! :-)

Let’s start this week with a tutorial in Adobe Bridge CS5. Adobe Bridge CS5 has a number of fantastic features, but I want to focus on one of them that is so useful for photographers. And it is so easy to use.

You all now Bridge, right? Well, most users of Adobe products don’t!

Adobe Bridge CS5 brings some enhancements within Output Module, especially in Watermarks area.

One of the big enhancements I have noticed is that now in Bridge CS5, when you add Watermarks, they appear on all the images (Contact Sheet is an example), when before one watermark would appear in the centre of the page.

Adobe Bridge CS5 also brings more options for Watermarks. There is so much more you can now do with the Output Module inside Bridge CS5 that you will get amazed!

Bridge ships with every Creative Suite edition as well as with many standalone products:

  • Adobe Photoshop® CS5 Extended
  • Adobe Photoshop CS5
  • Adobe Illustrator® CS5
  • Adobe InDesign® CS5
  • Adobe Flash® Professional CS5
  • Adobe Premiere® Pro CS5
  • Adobe After Effects® CS5
  • Adobe Encore® CS5
  • Adobe InCopy® CS5

I have created a video that presents the new Watermark feature in Output Module inside Adobe Bridge CS5 and I would like to share it with you.

Sit down, relax and Enjoy! :-)

Web Galleries in Bridge CS5

Friday, January 28th, 2011

Adobe Bridge CS5 enables users to create quite sophisticated Web Galleries or one could say Photography websites.

Using Output Module (that’s what we are talking about here), you can create web photo galleries in Adobe Bridge. A web photo gallery is a website that features a home page with thumbnail images and gallery pages with full-size images. Each page contains links that allow visitors to navigate the site. For example, when a visitor clicks a thumbnail image on the home page, the associated full-size image is loaded into a gallery page. You use the Adobe Output Module script in Adobe Bridge to automatically generate a web photo gallery from a set of images.

Adobe Output Module provides a variety of templates for your gallery, which you can select using the Output panel. Each template has one or more style options, which you can select and customize to suit your needs.

One thing to remember is that even though Bridge will only display 10 images, you can use any number of images within your gallery and they all will appear in the final effect.

Just to show you what Bridge can do in terms of Web Galleries, I recorded a video that shows the process of creating a Web Gallery in Adobe Bridge CS5.

Enjoy! :-)

Camera Raw in Adobe Bridge

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Camera Raw plugin

Camera Raw has changed a lot in the last couple of years. It has matured, it has improved a lot.

Nowadays, Camera Raw can read not just raw files but also Jpeg and Tiff.

And the best thing is, Camera Raw is free! And it comes with Adobe Bridge so you don’t even have to open Photoshop to edit the images. It depends how you’re going to edit them, Camera Raw is not as advanced as Photoshop, for some tasks you will need to open Photoshop anyway.

There is a lot you can do within Camera Raw, so why not use this opportunity and use it from within Bridge without launching Photoshop? That’s what I’m going to show you in the video that I have created.

So learn how to edit your images with Camera Raw in Adobe Bridge CS5 .

So enjoy watching! :-)

Master PDF Slideshows in Adobe Bridge CS5

master PDFs in Bridge

Adobe Output Module within Adobe Bridge CS5 allows to create PDF contact sheets and Slideshows.

One can take a collection of images and easily create a PDF slideshow presentation.

To create PDF slideshow, you will need to specify playback options which are extremely easy to customize, everything is described and easy to use, it’s just a matter of moving the sliders and previewing the effect..

The ability to create PDF slideshows was new in Bridge CS4, so the technique in the video that I am about to show works in both Bridge CS5 and CS4 (with the exception of  a Watermark section – new in Bridge CS5).

I remember when the Output Module was added soon after Bridge CS4 was released – at that time it was a much-requested ability to create PDFs and Web Galleries.

So without further ado, please enjoy the video that I have created for you:
